Inspiring confidence and success in children aged 6-10.
Spark Hope for Kids Inc. is a newly established non-profit organization in the Region of Waterloo dedicated to empowering children and their parents through creative resources, workshops, and community outreach. Rooted in values of equity, inclusion, and resilience, the organization designs programs that nurture confidence, compassion, and connection—especially for underserved communities. By bridging cultures and fostering collaboration, Spark Hope for Kids Inc. is committed to building brighter futures and stronger communities across Waterloo and beyond.
Our vision is a world where every child, no matter their background, grows up with a strong mind, a grateful heart, and the confidence to embrace who they are. Spark Hope for Kids Inc strives to nurture the next generation of kind, resilient, and respectful leaders by ensuring inclusive opportunities for personal growth, self-belief, and positive character development.
At Spark Hope for Kids, our mission is to empower children ages 6–10 — especially those from diverse and equity-deserving families — with the confidence, gratitude, and life skills they need to thrive. Through enriching programs, affirmations, gratitude practices, etiquette training, and printable resources, we foster social and emotional growth in inclusive spaces where every child can flourish, regardless of their background, income, or lived experiences.
Our Philosophy
At Spark Hope for Kids, we believe every child deserves the chance to thrive — not just academically, but socially, emotionally, and personally. Childhood is the foundation for confidence, resilience, and character, and we are committed to nurturing these qualities from an early age.
We recognize that families come from diverse and equity-deserving backgrounds, and we honor each child’s unique story, culture, and lived experience. Our philosophy is grounded in the belief that inclusivity, kindness, and respect are not extras but essentials in a child’s journey toward growth.
We teach through affirmations, gratitude practices, and life skills training, because we believe children flourish when they are encouraged to see their own strengths, celebrate what they are grateful for, and practice positive interactions with others.
Above all, our philosophy rests on this truth: when children are given tools to build confidence, gratitude, and social skills in a safe and inclusive space, they not only thrive today — they grow into tomorrow’s leaders who will shape a kinder, more resilient world.

I’m Amanda, an educator with more than 30 years of experience serving children and families across the Caribbean and Canada. Throughout my career, I have witnessed how social and emotional challenges can shape a child’s confidence and academic progress. These experiences inspired me to envision and establish Spark Hope for Kids Inc.—an organization dedicated to equipping children ages 6–10 with the skills and support they need to thrive.
I also bring nine years of executive non-profit board experience, which I am committed to leveraging to strengthen Spark Hope for Kids Inc. and ensure its meaningful impact within the Waterloo Region and surrounding communities.
At the heart of my work is a single, unwavering purpose: to ensure every child has the opportunity to shine, regardless of their background or lived experiences.
At Spark Hope for Kids, we believe that every child deserves access to workshops and tools that ignite confidence, curiosity, and real-world readiness. Our approach blends hands-on learning with research-informed strategies to ensure kids aren’t just participating—they’re thriving.
For children aged 6 to 10 years old, we provide in-person workshops that focus on self-confidence, mindfulness, etiquette, mental health and belonging. These hands-on experiences are crafted to inspire and equip young minds with the tools they need to thrive in their personal and academic journeys.
